The wife had much experience at the overseas post of her business. The family had decided to settle a new residence to live with her newborn child. The plot sets at a corner of a famed tranquil residential area and the client had chosen the site for its proximity to overseas embassies. The family love outdoor lifestyles. The exterior arranges a garage for two cars and an outer storehouse while the interior sets a verdant roof balcony on the top for the wife who loves gardening.
The entrance hall of the first floor lays an earth floor with capacious storage. A symbolized stairwell receiving diffused light from the top produces spacious room in a limited volume. The second floor faces tile flooring with an island kitchen. From the large opening, verdant scenery comes in. At any position you feel the spaceless outside because the water area adjoins the roof balcony. The innovative mural storage and the loft play a significant role in realizing commodious and brief space. The massive volume shifting slightly gives a vivid rhythm in the monotonous street while securing the privacy.
仕事上、海外赴任の長かったご主人と奥様は、御実家の土地に新たに小さなお子さん達と一緒に暮らすための新居を構えることになりました。敷地は都内でも屈指の閑静な住宅街の一角。海外の大使館等も近接する緑の多いエリアです。
アウトドアライフが大好きで、二台分の駐車場や、外部倉庫を充実させ、内部にはガーデニングが大好きな奥様の希望で、緑に覆われたルーフバルコニーを設えています。
個室や収納を充実させた 1階のエントランス部分は土間敷き。オブジェ性の高いストリップタイプの直階段は、上部から降り注ぐトップライトからの拡散光と相まって、限られた空間ながら、ゆとりのあるホール空間を実現しています。
メイン空間の2階はタイル敷きとし、アイランドキッチンを設けながら、ファサード大開口からの借景を空間に取り込めます。
また、浴室などの水廻りをルーフバルコニーに接するように配置したことで、空間には回遊性が生まれ、どこに居ても外部を感じることができるようになっています。
工夫して設えた壁面収納やロフトは、 大きな一室空間を実現させるために重要であり、空間をすっきりとさせるための必須アイテムです。
ボックスがずれながら集合しているようなマッシブなファサードは、単調になりがちな街路にリズムを生み出し、やや閉じながらもプライバシーを守る役割を果たしています。
